As a student of Information Technology at South University I have
collected many pieces of documentation, software, and other works that
I will post here. South University is excellent, and I recommend them

Welcome, Fellow Capstone Students!

Thank you for visiting my blog — feel free to look around, I’ve got lots and lots of technical articles referenced here that I use to help keep track of resources that I use regularly, and some others which simply sparked my interest enough to want to refer back to at a later date.

A little about me…

I am an Information Technology major at South, and expect to complete my degree in just a few more quarters. My second quarter into my studies, back in 2004, my employer let me go, so I formed my own company, Coastal Data Enterprises, Inc., to provide technical services to a select few customers in the Group Travel industry.

IT is a way of life for me. My Dad bought "Pong", by Atari, when I was 6, and I was hooked. In high school, we had a lab of TRS80 Model III’s, with a simple network so that we could share a dot matrix printer, and a 5 1/4" floppy. We really thought we were cool!

I graduated from high school in 1985, but didn’t get my first real computer job until 1994, when I first got started at Serif, Inc. I learned a lot at Serif, and moved up in the company swiftly due to openings in the company.

When I left Serif, I did a small stint on my own, but after a time I decided to take a job with my then biggest competitor, NH.com. I couldn’t have made a better decision because of the access that I was given to very qualified, professional people who really made a difference in my life. They believed in me, they encouraged me, and I owe them a debt of gratitude!

I left NH.com, and NH, to come to Savannah, Georgia, in 2001. Most of the time that I’ve been here, I’ve been self-employed in one way or another, but I did spend about a year and a half as a full time tech support representative for Systems Connect.

I generally like what I do with IT, although I currently seek another way approach the infusion of value into the data market in a way that matches my advanced skills and experience. The entire focus of my business probably depends on what I decide to do in the next few weeks, so this should be a very interesting quarter, indeed!
